Fuge are a good thing, and while I have no experience with any of the hang on back fuges, they always seem pricey for what they are. As far as lights go, the ones that you can buy with it are nice looking and fit well with the product, but they dont put out nealy enough light. You can buy a clamp on light fixture from walmart and buy a high output 6500k or 10k spiral cfl bulb for under 20 bucks. I use two on my fuge and have fantastic growth.

The skimmer is likely crap as well.

Just my two cents.

Thanks heathd. I am going to get it...the price is ridiculous, $100.! I am only doing a 20g long. I am going to get the salt and hydrometer today as well as a koraline. get it started and Ill get the fuge on there next week when I buy it. Anymore advice for a SW noob? I would really dig it !

Only 100$? I thought it said 279 on the site.

Well, A 100 bucks isnt that bad then. Only other advice I could offer you is to run your fuge light and tank light in reverse cycles.

I keep my fuge light on 24/7, but that is to keep my caulerpa from going "sexual"

Some guy is just hanging up the fish...so to speak. He'll give me the aquafuge for 100. So, I am gonna fill my tank with salt water and sand tomorrow and run the power head. I'll install the aquafuge next week. I am gonna add rubble rock and chaeto to the fuge and like you're doing keep the fuge light on 24/7. Anything else...mixing salt anything?

they are pretty good. the skimmers on those are basic but get the job done. for $100 its well worth it.

You will want another skimmer. Regard that one as "add on" basically to me. Its a nice little bell or whistle, but its not going to carry you through any heavy bioload times.
