Does anyone know anything about these guys?

Couldnt really find anything about them so can you tell me something?

Id like to know the works. Tank size, growth rate, decor, pleco or no...

Thanks guys.

i'm gonna go off memory-

max size for spilos/macs is around 12", i've seen a couple 11"ers before, great looking fish., minimum tank size would be a 55 gal. i really wouldn't do a pleco with it. feed them fish such as tilapia, smelt, and shrimp.

How about a minimum tank size for a Juvie, like 1-2"?

And do you know the growth rate on them?

for serra's i hear they grow relativaly fast, but i'm willing to bet a 15-20 gal will last for a good amount of time.

All right 15-20 was in my range. But I always thought they (serrra's) grew slow!? Like black rhoms. 1-2" a year? Or is that strictly a one fish thing?

almost all serra's grow at around that same pace, but i believe i heard that spilo's were a bit faster growing, not sure how much faster though.

Oh. Well then its still going to need a while before an upgrade. So If I had a 1-2" fish in a 29 gallon It could stay in there for at least 2-3 years right?

oooooo, nah not that long, you could attempt it though i wouldn't reccomend it, if you can buy a 40 gallon breeder, it should be able to live in there for it's life.

Yea thats an even better idea. lol. You know how well they do with plants?
