i picked up a 5 inch african pike and he has a mouth full of teeth. but i havent seen him eat yet 3 days. tried bl.bs.krill. and i do have some small goldfish in there so maybe he is eating some at night or something. also will my 2 3 inch exodons kill him? any info on the odoe would be helpful. size/fish interaction/feeding. such forth. ty

but my 12 inch gar snapped him in half boy was i mad he was one of my favorites the way he attackes gold fish and all his teeth when he stretches his jaws he was about 5 inches
As stated they are predatory but not aggressive, if it is stubborn about eating try some live crickets. Also be aware that they only live a few years.

never really seen mine eat anyone but it has left long gashes. Think max size is about 1ft. never seen em eat pellets but any frozen or fresh foods are great.
Odoes can live for quite some time. They can be skittish and do better in more open tanks with other schooling type fish that are of equal size and not overly aggressive. They can be difficult to get onto prepared foods but it is not impossible. The largest that I had grew to 14". I forget who has it now. . .
mine is over 10"+ and very active, will jump because he jumped out of my pond and i had to bring him back to life, loves live food and fresh shrimp or silversides will not eat pellets and has bright red fins, he has attacked both of my clown loaches but has never killed anything and he gets into it with my cobra pike sometimes, pics are in my photo gallery!!
