i can get them for $16 each at 1".. should i do it? also what size tank?

I'm not sure how big they get and what the aggression is like. I'm assuming they get 10''-12'' full grown. Maybe 55g-75g? Also it looks like there are 2 main morphs that pretty different. Are you planing on breeding them? $16 isn't a bad price either. Just make sure they are the real deal.

i emailed the person. i do have a 55 with Africans but id much rather have a real breeding pair of minckleyi.. i also have a 150.. but that has a gar and most likely will be receiving Lyonsis.. if they are the real deal, i will get a few and try to bred them.

I would do that in a heart beat. I'd get them if I had any space. Also they are going for $90 on aquabid right now, but that is an adult male and female.

look at the male :WHOA:

they are beautiful fish.

I agree. Hopefully more people will breed them, because there is the chance that they could go extinct in the wild.

Not an easy fish to raise. Very bloat sensitive but a very cool CA. Very clean water and filtration needed if you plan on having any success. I've kept them a couple of times.
