do you know how big it gets is it a hide all the time kinda fish and can it be trained to accept frzn (sorry bout all the questions)

Hi,
i have the slaty blue variety, started feeding them on brine shrimp then bloodworn and live shrimp, now they feed on frozen river shrimp. Not too hard to train. The species you have grow to 6 to 8inches and the size of the prey they can take is amazing, great fish, I would get some more if I could.
They certainly don't hide all the time, they come to the aquarium glass when I feed and they are only just over an inch.

Hope this helps.

I have these their called nandus nandus or common name asian leaf fish, they need a planted tank to be comfortable, and they eat live fish. I havent had these fish too long but I love watching them eat the feeders. they can change the strength of their colors quite easily and grow to 8".

I have two of them and Nandus Sp. Slaty Blue.

Great little predators. Its surprising what they can fit in there mouths. I have had mine for a couple of months now and still haven’t got them off live. They get to about 3”. I would be careful what you put them with in regards to size. They have very large mouths and mine have taken shrimp of nearly their own length.

Get some.

You are correct. I mistyped. 8", Yes Nandus Nandus.

Thanks Jelly  then if it is Nandus Nandus that’s a cool fish. It is a predator usual rules apply if it can get it in its mouth it will eat it but not bad with things it can’t eat. Would go well with some Pictus Catfish. The leaf fish I had a few years back required live foods could not get it to eat anything but live.
