native here in the phil. i just bought a pair of juveniles. can someone give the scientific name? are they fully aquatic?

carapace dull olive green with with darkspots bottom of the carapace is white is a yellowy-orange patterns, necks stretch a lot, pointy nose. ill uploada pic as soon as i can.

that is a Pelodiscus sinensis IMO. can be kept fully aquatic, no need for a basking area. highly carnivorous. minimum tank space: fifty gallons.

deff. a soft shell. because of your area it could get EXTREMELY large.
sand substrate and high quality pellets with some shrimp and fish fillets. occasional quarintined feeders or mice can work too.

sand as a substrate is a must for softies. No need for a basking area but it couldn't hurt either. Pellets and fish are a good diet for them and I would recommend a pond for long term care since they tend to get quite large.

Pelodiscus sinensis. Put yours apart, they are higly agressive from the begining, and the bigger one will soon start bulying the other. More then one just in a place like a pond. You will need to a place for them to get out of the water. The diet is mainly carnivorus with some ad of herbivorus stuff like pleco pellets. It is very important to avoid feeders or any complete fish by that matter, they will eat themselfes to death very easily. Turtle, koi and chiclid pellets, alongside earthworms, slugs, snails, insects and the ocasional lean meat and fish fillet in small chunks will do as diet.
