confused...........are these FW or SW?

The hybrids he is selling are freshwater fish. True striped bass are saltwater. The freshwater hybrid are farmed and sold as striped bass. They are actually quite cheap and can be bought live in numerous fish stores. Not to tain on anybody's parade, but these go for about 6 bucks a pound in NYC. His fish may be of better quality, but if you were strapped for cash, you could buy a live one from a grocery and quarantine for a while. (Good thing about these is that they're conditioned, like other farmed fishes, to take pellet food.)

It should be noted also that these fish (hybrids, true stripers, etc) can, and DO enter freshwater. There are even populations that became landlocked in freshwater and are thriving there.

So the "freshwater versus saltwater" question is shady at best when referring to these guys. It's my understanding that people on here keep them under various conditions.

Dude that is amazing, i love striper fishing! thats sick, i bet my dad would love those!

While true striped bass are anadromous and migrate from the oceans to spawn in fresh water, hybrids are raised in freshwater tanks.

but there are many landlocked populations of true stripers in Nevada lakes, etc...

Landlocked ones resulted in anadromous populations that did not migrate back to the sea after spawning. There's an interesting article on them that I found on google yesterday, but I no longer have the link. 100GAL, I think what you're selling are the same fish that go for $6 a pound in NYC. Maybe I'll go home and start marketing them to the MFK crowd for $25 ea? :grinno:

THESE FISH ARE BRED FOR THERE STRONG FIGHTING ABILITY. THEY DO GROW FAST BUT ARE REAL HEARTY!

Strong fighting ability? That's news to me, as neither of the parent species are particularly aggressive towards other fish.. This is unless you're trying to sell them to be raised in a sports fishing pond, in which case it might make more sense to buy in bulk by pound..

Druu - strong fighting, as in on a pole and reel ;)
