Check with the vendors here. All my lfs have been getting in gatf and vatf recently so they are still available somewhere

The northern hemisphere species are on their way out but the southern hemisphere species should start showing up soon. Fatf is a northern hemisphere species.

Check out the thread I made on telling brevis from forskahlii. If you get a brevis on accident, for all intents and purposes you have a goliath on your hands.

I'll be looking forward to that as well. I feel I'm in a position to realistically have all five species in one place at one time. As far as I know, that has never been done before.

I would get the tat, so worth the money and they aren't even that expensive.

I had one before. They're wonderful fish and well suited to a large aquarium. They grow slowly, are beautiful and last a fairly long time.

I don't know how they got the sudden death reputation, that's scombs that tend to die quickly.

the cheapest I could find a red tail tat was from john (snookn21) and they're going for $108 for one.

FATF are great fish. I love mine. They're probably the most under appreciated big tetra. I hope they start gaining popularity! Mine has a gorgeous yellow and dark grey tail.
