Ive been thinking for a long time about getting a lung fish and I really want one. I won't have my super tank running for a while. But are there any lungfish that can live in a 55? I got a 55 with an undergravel filter ac110 top fin 60(300gph HOB) and an eheim 2215 . Are there any lungs that could live in there? :)

anyone out there?

not in a 55 for life sorry

Ok , thanks guys. I got a 100 gallon but its gonna have a few bichirs in it. That probably wouldn't work would it ?

It might work with a south american lung but not any African

Even with south Americana lungfish 55g is way to small for them. Even though they like to curl up. Also the bio-load is way too much for a 55g, unless you got a filter that could hold that much bio-load that the lungfish produces.

I might just break down and buy a 75 for a lung. It will have an eheim 2217 an ac 110 and an under gravel. Should that be ok ? 75's are pretty wide. Or could I have a pair in my hundred gallon ?

A pair of lungfish is not a good idea. Lungfish hate each other except breeding but chances of that is very slim to none. Only Australian lungfish can tolerate each other but fin nipping and biting cannot be avoided.

I have a fluval FX5 in my 75 and it's able to handle the bio-load.
