any MFK pool sharks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've not played for a team for years probably around 20. I do have a full size table in my house and even that now hardly ever gets used. I prefer 8 ball but like a bit of 9 ball every now and then.

Just curious what a full size table is across the pond. We shoot on 8 footers, but I much prefer a 10' table. It's what I grew up shooting on. My grandparents had a 10' table that was extremely old. When my brother and I were about 6 and 4 respectively he had it re-felted and re-leveled and had the leather pockets replaced. he taught us how to shoot properly from a very young age. I am more versed in old-school bridge shots than most people 30 years my elder. I have grown up with a strong passion for pool because of my grandfather and I hope to teach my son just as I was taught. My grandmother passed almost 2 years ago and my grandfather, god bless him, is nearing the end of his road as well. I hope to have the table fixed up once again and shoot a game with my son on it one day.

Last week the other team put up a 3 against me. So as a 7 I had to shoot in 55 balls before he made 25 balls. It was a very defensive night for me. I won 16-4

Wait....can we back up? I've no clue how to score in pool so, er, how does 55-25 work out to 16-4? And what do you mean when you say you're a 7?

APA 9ball players are ranked from 1-9 with 9 being the highest. When you start APA 9ball for the 1st time men start as a 4 women start as a 3. Then based on performance and politics your ranking goes up or down week to week.

As a 1 your goal is to make 14 balls
2= 19 balls
3=25 balls
4=31 balls
5= 38 balls
6= 46 balls
7= 55 balls
8= 65 balls
9= 75 balls.

Your goal is to get your total balls is before you opponent does. And once the winner sinks his ball count the # of balls the loser had remaining determines the score. There is a chart that breaks this down. The match score will always equal 20 so it will typically be 20-0, 19-1, 18-2, 17-3, 16-4 ect....here is the official chart in case you are confused. uploadfromtaptalk1378394511048.jpg

My table is 7x4 a full size English pool table is 7x4 although they use 8x4.5 when on TV.
When I play out of the house I use 9' tables American style.
