One of my bosses asked me today if i could help him with a his aquarium situation. He is the operator of eagle ponit resort's restaurant they are closed for the winter and are doing renovations. he has a approx. 100 gallon tank at home an wants to put it in the restaurant. any ideas of fish?
what kind of filters, heaters?

P.S. he said if all goes well he's gonna think about putting in a much larger aquarium probably 900-1000 gallons!.... any ideas for that?

tHANX, by the way i'm new to this sit and it looks pretty awesome, love the raffling ideas!

Welcome to MFK,
He will probably want Eheim cannister filters rated for a larger tank or 2 smaller ones like the model 2215, each of these is rated for a 95g tank so a pair of them would be great, also 2 heaters (submersible, each rated at 150 watts) Marineland stealths would do.
Low maintainance, fairly calm but showy fish would be best if the tank is going in a high traffic area, tinfoil barbs might be a good start.

I did a 90 gallon surfline in a doctors office and stocked it with mbunas. It has gone over very well so far.
As far as equipment.....I agree with guppy.

Welcome to MFK!

possibilities are endless for that tank.
arowanas, several types of catfish, large cichlids....Just go with a MONSTER mix:)

Who will be taking care of the tank? If someone new I would go with fish that are hardy and easy to care for. African cichlids come to mind. I would put something in there not so common. I guess a Aro would be fine till it hit about 18in or so.

will i am going to tell u guys that i am not that experienced compared to some of the members. I am currently keeping Piranhas so i know the importance of water parameters.
i think a mixed cichlid tank would be good, he said he wants something colorful, so i was thinking discus but i have herd horror stories from some of the regulars at me LFS on how hard they are to keep. is this a myth or would they be a good idea?

go with african cichlids. This is the tank i set up at a doctors office and so far everyone loves it, and the fish are doing well:
