The LFS has one and I thought it was pretty cool and came home to do some research and my infinite knowledge base (Google) did not come back with to mush results. All I could find out was they get bigger than 12" and eat meaty foods. I was wondering if anyone here has ever had one.

Let the flamin begin... i got one (impuslse buy)

fast grower, mine will eat flakes pellets frozen cubes of various things, krill, silversides, and table shrimp.. hangs on the tank wall most of the time.. the only time he bothers fish is at feeding time because he darts at the speed of light to grab a piece of food then back to his spot to eat it..then darts for the next bite.. i usually hand feed him at his spot and that cuts down on the lighting speed darting.. likes to hang out in direct flow and grows fast..other fish with him must be agressive eaters to compete for food..and they have suprisingly big mouths and will eat anything that will fit itno is mouth..

Yea the one at the LFS looks really cool and I was thinking about putting him in a 180 with a Porcupine puffer and a lion fish. It is already a little over a foot long so I was wondering if that was full grown in an aquarium. Also what tank mates do you have with yours?

I have mine with a scribbled angelfish, a moorish idol, purple tang, and 3 columbian sharks( brackish water cat fish converted to full marine conditions)

i got mine at about 10-11 inches and in 3 months time it is around 14-15 inches but has considerably slowed its growth rate as in the second 3 months it has about 16 inches now...

Thanks for the info. I am in the middle of a moral debate on this fish but if he is still at the LFS in a few months I may have to put him in my 180.
