Any one figgered out the cause or cure for Drop Eye yet?

i know its a bad thing to say but i cant stand drop eye and if any aro i own got it i would sell it at the 1st chance sorry but its just dam nasty

Better to read before you post a link. In the second link you provided the author himself stated his doughts on this subject

Other cited possible cures are to place a ping-pong ball or two in the tank. This will attract the Arowanas attention and entice it to look up. However, I feel that this method will only attract the attention of the Arowana for the first few days. Once the Arowana gets used to having this boring in animate object floating around in the tank, it will simply ignore it. Another one is the use of blinking lights placed on top of the tank. Perhaps this may be a better method since the lights are at least moving.

But honestly-
Does one think that the aro never has collisions in the wild-
Being that it is a jumper and like to grab things out of tree branches and what nots-
I would have to think that even in the wild they are acceptible to collisions....Still yet.....

I also would assume there are collisions in the wild, but I would imagine the frequency is far less as with the severity. Also I would believe the aros are more likely to recover from DE in the wild.

It happen to my silver twice, each eye seperate occurances. Black aro is a different fish and very very rarely get DE. Actually I've never seen or heard of a black aro getting DE.

Just funning with ya, the aros soon become uninterested with the ping pong balls, as they do with any other inanimate object that is place in the tank. If there are reports of sucsess then why do 99% of the silver aros posted on any forums have DE?
