Hmmm. I would recommend some high protein strong smell pellets like Hikari's carni pellets to see whether it is one which takes pellets. If not then can try some meaty stuff like fish fillet,,shrimp meat or live prey which they will not hesitate to take.Yup. Thanks man. Catfishes look their best when they are full. Lol.

I agree with the guys that I do not see one eye being better than the other but I believe you, especially about seeing no flash reflection from one eye. Anyhow, yes cloudy eyes is not a norm but IMO in good conditions it should improve and go away on its own. It is not necessarily an infection (although could be) but may be stress, shipping/rubbing, difference in water, etc.

I did read of some keepers describing how Melafix cured their fish's cloudy eye problem. A bit surprised about it though. I'd use a hardcore antibiotic, not a superficial, mild anticeptic like Melafix but I also believe anything's possible and experimenting pays off.

Fins will heal no problem. I don't think you got mistreated by Shark Aquarium but if you do - call back and talk to George personally. I found him being a great guy and he will help you out if he finds you are right.

$100 for 12" is good. Mine for $80 were ~9"-10" and that was, as I said, ~3 years ago.

A few last times I'd been to Shark Aquarium, they had like a dozen of these guys, smaller ones, 6"-10" in one tank and bigger ones separately.

As I wrote, my three loved fleshy foods. There is no need whatsoever to gamble with live. Just my $0.02

A friend of mine got his feeding with trout filler.

No need to go live.mthey will pick it out of your hand.

I'll take better pics of the eye later. One eye is very large round and only cloudy. The other eye is tiny and recessed dead rotted and healing over.

If I ship a fish I always check it has all of its eyes in tact. If not I toss the fish.

I'm not going to bother contacting shark aquarium. I can't stand dealing with them. I just like the stock they have when I can't find it elsewhere. He can keep the 125 plus shipping and buy himself some communication skills.

Some people would not be so accepting of a fish with one eye.

I've used every vender here multiple times. Jeff rapps is awesome. Rare fish is king. Ichiban Asia is pretty good. Discus origins nice. Aqua scape alright..... Shark aquarium...sucks complete ass . Every single order. Great selection though lol

Forgot to add clean water and a little salt will Heal the fins and the 1 cloudy eye. I never have had to resort to medications or antibiotics.

Sorry, I feel like I derailed my own thread earlier. Can we get back to the sweet pics and good discussion.

Yeah, I think I see now what you mean about the bad eye.

Well, actually, I'd have to change my mind and agree with you - I'd not be completely happy with such a fish either, especially given the many excellent sellers we are spoiled by :) I don't think we are derailing - as we discussed with Koltsix, Shark Aquarium is one of very few sources for Cephalosilurus - him and I got ours from Shark Aquarium, NJ and from River Wonders, CA. I am a bit surprised Koltsix has not piped in yet.
