Myself and "mrwinkle." I don't know where you live in Atlanta, but have you been to the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association? It looks like it is informative. http://www.atlantaaquarium.com/ They have their own forum. I have not really had time to research the site much. I stay on monster 100% of the time! Did you ever visit our aquarium? I had been waiting on the place forever!! I even have pics of of the GA. red clay on the site before it was built!!! I went the opening weekend...The Moon jellies were about 3-5 inches then, I went again and they were 4 or 5 times the size. The behaviour of the crowd was ridiculous for the opening weekend..i had to stretch my arms wide blocking my God son and his brother from the crowd crushing them. The crowds were crushing the elderly and people in wheelchairs!! I was so pissed!!! A few people like myself had to tell people not to push people into the displays. The walk through tunnel was interesting...http://ibloggedwhat.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/ga-aquarium-whale.jpg These yellow fish with the black bars on the sides, were in bad shape. When the fish would change direction, you would see the flesh exposed, some with chunks of meat missed. Some of the other fish were in worse conditions. The aquarium finally figured out, that if the tank has a fair number of predators, they will eat the fish or maim them. The aquarium decided to not make the tank completely dark and have special lights so the prey fish would be able to see an attack coming and make sure the predators were well fed. It was crazy listening to this on the local news as the aquarium was explaining why masses of prey fish were having problems. Anyway, it was our first aquarium and mistakes were expected to be made. I might go again, I will forget the first weekend(bought a year pass too)

hey yeah actually i live about 20 mins south of atl, in fayetteville, i have been to the aquarium a few times it is awsome.

What fish do you have?

the tanks that i have set up right now are a 125 gal with cichlids, black belt, gt, severums, jag, nics, senegal, and a few earth eaters. i also have a 20 gal planted tank, and a 10 gal growout with about a 3 or 4 inch lmb. waiting til i get my house so i can get a bigger tank, gonna shoot for around 300 gals or larger.

Anyone interested in a paratilapia bleekeri?

Greetings... You are not alone. I'm a GA MFK too!
Any of you guys know of a good place for african cichlids in the atlanta area? I'm going up this weekend and I'm currently stocking a couple of tanks. Any good local shops or breeders in ATL area????
I also keep cichla, gar, arowana in a few other tanks (just so i don't lose my "monster" status lol)

Middle Georgia area near Warner Robins. I got my gar from a local creek when it was only around 4 inches. Caught it by accident and took it home. It adapted great. I know someone that has a great fla/spotted gar that is around 12 to 14 inches that needs a good home (FREE!!!.. if your tank space and tankmates are adequate) if you are interested PM me.
