Also, what do you think about the proposal for supercar brand Koenigsegg to purchase Saab from GM, with $600,000,000 of backing from the Swedish Government? GM would continue to supply engine & chassis design for an "undisclosed" period of time, but Koenigsegg & the Swedes would be in command & eventually on their own for designs.

I am a little sceptical to Christian von Koeningsegg and those behind him, I mean, how much does they know about the car industrie and manageing large factorys with thousands of employees?? Last year the Koeningsegg company made 18 cars, cars that are for rich people with lots of bling, that isn´t exactly what SAAB is.
Also the government arent convinced yet that Koeningsegg have the money to buy SAAB and they don´t want to spend taxmoney on some crazybusiness.

Everything from sweden is awesome! :headbang2

Yup!

I can understand the hesitation... You're right, Koenigsegg hasnt built very many cars yet & who knows what their current financial situation is. It will be interesting to see what happens, but at least they will get the factory & it's employees with the deal. I hope it works out.

My wife drives a 2004 XC70 that we bought brand new. She likes it a lot, but it has had a few problems.

Both front windows had defective or improperly installed brackets, causing the windows to drop down into the door. The first time it happened on the driver side and my wife tried to roll it up, ruining the motor/extender assembly ($400). We also found out that to replace it you have to go to a specialized Volvo mechanic, as there is a computer program needed to reset the motors chip. The next time we took it in right away and it cost about $100 to replace just the broken plastic brackets. The only other problem is the rear wiper which quit working months ago - still need to go in and get that fixed...

I do love the power and solid feeling of the car. The handling is decent for a big heavy station wagon and it does well in the snow (not quite as well as my Subaru!). The interior is super nice. If it weren't for the little finish problems and the high cost of maintenance ($600 brake jobs!) I would say we love our Volvo, but as it stands I'm not so sure.

My Volvo is far from boxy! Maybe not beautiful, either... Thats not the point! Just kiddin. Not everyone likes Volvo & not everyone likes BMW or Mercedes or whatever else. Keep 'em coming!
