So, I wonder if there are any "Panama Green" Umbee still around??
Lol, I was wondering the same thing.....

Its not clear to me who is hating and why on this thread.
Cleared up? By who? It may not be the exact same collection locale, but likely the same color variant of the fish. If anything, it a matter of opinion. I wouldn't get hung up on a common name assigned to the fish. The only thing confusing about the "Red Terror" mayan/festae is the common name. Those are two completely different species.
for one Mo this so called article that you claim Mr. Lucas wrote up happens to be dated after these Black Umbee's Chris had already collected and if you compare the adult specimens from each you can clearly see the difference..... do your homework and I am sure you will see what I thought the eye couldn't miss but incase it can there are two things I mentioned that you can confirm.
it seems those around the gorillus umbee want to create a superiority to everone else on here who tries to take a constructive, scientific look at identifying new species or a subspecies brought into the hobby which is how its always been done. And honestly mojo has probably more experience on the matter of collecting and scientifically naming fish as the three umbeeteers combined times a couple and taking any shots on him is foolish cause everyone knows hes legit and what he has brought to this hobby and the work he has put in is only matched by very few.
It just seems as if everyone has a hard on to get the location names for the umbees that Chris collected and saying its for scientific ID...
I must say though it is quite humors to observe you know it alls on this forum. Taking the word of one and choosing to believe who you want to believe without proven facts.
Personally speaking, I honestly don't care where these fish were collected, or what you or anyone else does with them. I suggest you go back & re-read my previous comments, perhaps in time you will eventually understand that those comments were an attempt to help you & others who obviously can't see the forest for the trees. You use terms like premature ejaculation, and circle jerk, yet are offended when someone refers to you as part of the three umbeeteers? Think about it.
In your sig, its "....how petty OUR arguments are...." Just fyi.
