Any pikes for a 180g?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey i got a few more questions, like if i got the pike o say around 7-9" and the peacock bass at about 4-5" would there be a possibilty of the pike taking down the pbass, or oscars of same size(i think im going with two) or a 4" juru catfish?

Tapajos II's (Cobras) get 12-14" are semi aggressive and can also be considered.

Always worry.

LOL yes cobras could also be considered they have a nice cammo pattern then turn totally red

i'd say a 9'' pike could eat a 4'' Pbass so be care full i would say make sure the Pbass it atleast half the length of the pike also it woild help to introduce the Pbass to the tank first then the pike

an oscar of the same size if you mean 4''-5'' then it would be fine and a 4'' Jur might be in danger i would try to get a larger one or grow it out in another tank

alright thanks for the help, do you have any clue of the juru growth rate to the pikes?

They sould grow at around the same rate the pike will grow around 1''-2'' a month till it reaches around 8''-9'' then slow down not totally sure about the Jur they do grow some what fast around 1.5'' a month some times faster people in the catfish section can help you more with that i don't have to much experience with Jurs

you want a 5-6" pike for ur small pbass because my brother was growing out 3 pike's 2 xingu 1's and the one i currently have housed in a tank with 2 monos and the pbass got beat to hell so i had to take the green one and we put a divider up to ensure the pbass health. they almost killed 2 of them they were working like a pack of wolves and were following the green one.
the green pike is not a venz its cool tho i love it even tho my lil jags try beatin it up but hes fine now just shy.
it kinda looks like a sveni in the spots but then it looks like a proteus due to the finnage because my pike was a little bigger than him b4 he choked to death and i knew it was a male and they dont look exactly alike.
anyways pics will be up soon on my post forgot to get batteries after work

Pikes can be aggressive but generally there pretty tame in a 180 with room to move around there shouldn't be to much trouble just make sure theres plenty of cover in case the pike does get pushy
