So I'm aware tht plecos are said to suck the slime coat off bichirs, im interested in getting a delhezi once i get my 75, i also was considering some kind of pleco, wondering if anyone knws if theres a certain species tht would work. I had a rhino in mind or a royal since they eat wood? Any ideas

I have a gibby with my sen and I've never seen the gibby sucking the slime coat. In fact the majority of their interaction is the gibby chasing the sen away from his cave. Otherwise they rarely if ever interact.

I keep a few plecos in my tank with delz and ornated.

And if a fish is to stupid to notice a pleco is sucking on the slime coat, then that fish deserves to die.

My pleco is to busy stuffing his face with algae. but to be honest i have never seen my poly's or plecos interact. i have a common right now and have had a rubber lip.

My adonis pleco sucked the eye out of my lep bichirs head about two weeks ago. I will never keep plecos and bichirs together again. Just my personal experance. Many people keep them together with no problem. But when one sucks the eye out of a rad fish you love........youll want to chop the guy up.
