i have .......
2 golden severums
1 silver dollar
1 rainbow chiclid
1 angel fish
1 unknown catfish
1 common pleco
1 African clawed frog
i really wont to sand my tank but are stones better for my frog or will it be fine will there be anything i need to watch out for ?

the unknown catfish is 24 years old some kind of synodontis only 5 inches and always hiding

What size tank is this?

I would say the frog will be a problem. These frogs have a voracious appetite. I have seen them try to eat fish 3 times their size. I had one try to eat an ID shark. The sharks fins were stabbed through the frogs head causing both them to die. They should be kept in species tanks. However I have even seen them eat other frogs as well. The sand want be a problem.

The silver dollar should be kept in multiples along with the angle. The common pleco will get huge. It will become an eating and pooping machine. I would suggest getting a smaller variety. Maybe a rubber lip or bushy nose. The rainbow fish is a toss up it seems out of place.

The frog? Dwarf type or regular clawed frog? If its a dwarf I would be concerned for its well being with cichlids that can get large (sevs). If it is the regular clawed frog, I would be concerned for the fish because anything that can fit in its mouth is fair game.

The silver dollars need to be grouped in at least 3 but 5 would be better.

The common pleco will get huge, is your tank big enough to handle it?

Under mowgli and co blog entry he says he has a 75g. This might help us figure out our recommendations a bit better.

i am rehoming the silver dollar the angel fish and maybe the rainbow just wont to know if the sand will be a problem or not
