nissans are just too expensive (i have a toyota all-trac so i can't say much) around here your spending $2000 on piecer of a 240, although i have seen GT-S' for $12,000 which is a steal for an import that nobody has.

Celica? :screwy:

When all is said and done, I'm figuring I'll have ~$10,000 tied into this S13 and it'll romp on a lot of other cars out there.

i started a SR swap about a year ago and just now finished but boy is it worth it.

What are you going to be doing to it that will cost that much since you said you would be most of it in your garage?

Dillsburg isn't that far away from me.. maybe 40mins north? :) I bet I know what mustang shop you're talking about too.. the name escapes me though..

Kauffman Motorsports. Ernie Kauffman is the owner. He owns the building that their both in.

Mr. S13 himself showed up.. :)
I agree 10k is a high budget for this swap.. But chonk you would probably be better at giving a more real world estimate since you've done it.

I figure the motor and all the associated parts will run me ~$4,000. The car was $2500. $1500 for brakes. $2000 for wheels and tires. Give or take.

I am a fan of the RX-7 line my self the RX-8 is just a slap in the face....

Best advice would be to try and find a local drifting forum and buy used parts, you will save so much.

When i have time, ill try to write a break down of everything i have so far and how much it was.

You baited me one that one.. :) I love rx7's, and have owned a couple 93-95 versons. Need to stop spending money on fish so I can get another.. ugh.. lol

All in all 240sx is very similar to rx7.. both are practically two seaters due to being compact, both weigh in the 2800lb range, both have older versions that are available on a budget. Both have a ton of aftermarket swaps/parts available.

I've been to several of the toyo series drift events, and the 240's are always a favorite off the bat. I like them in their own practicality...what are you going to be using the car for...show, drift, auto-x, drag? Good luck with the swap had a buddy a while back that took a 91 240 and put a sr20det in it. I could stick my whole arm up to my shoulder into his exhaust...what a beast. He auto-x's it and drags it. It runs 13.4's-13.6's all day, nice car. The swap isn't the hard part as others said its the wiring. Swapping a motors in a american to american car is bad enough have fun with going american to nismo.;)
