Any secrets to getting rid of brown algae...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I keep a sailfin pleco in my all my tanks to get rid of any algae. Works like a charm. I’d avoid any chemicals to get rid of algae it seems more harm than good.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Plecos but it’s not an option with a fahaka. They are just too likely to make friends by taking a few beak fulls of Pleco.

Haha no worries I’ve never kept a puffer so I’m clueless.

If your puffer is too big to mess with tiny snails you could go for those Pond or Malaysian trumpet my understanding is brown algae e is actually diatoms

Yea I cant keep a pleco with my flowerhorn either. Plus the bigger the pleco the more lazy they are. I have one that is 7 inches and he is just lazy. Never moves, never does anything.

Yeah, I wouldn't put a pleco with a fahaka. I have seen some threads with butchered plecos, not a good tankmate.
