yeah 29 gal. is too small for the life of a cornsnake...consider not only their size but also that they are VERY active snakes.

You could go bracckish with a coulpe of spotted scats and an archer fish, archer will put out lit cigs in a dark room if you open the top for them.

that you need to make a small blackwater tank with sand as the substrate with about two inches of oak leaves on top of that. Place some nice driftwood in the tank and get 6 blue rams or apistos, 6 corydoras, and two clown plecos. Also throw in a pair of angels. Light the tank with a 75 watt halogen suspended 18 inches above the water for the ripple effect. This tank would be very cool.

u almost read my mind cause today I went and brought a German Ram. I wanted to buy more of them but the tank that i brought it from have some kinda disiese cause the fishes were dien. there were only 2 left wen i brought mines and I m thinking of going back again and get the last one. I tought of the angels too, but they kinda expensive in Petland, plus the ones that i keept before only lasted me 4 to 5 months the most. answering your q I only wanted to put a corn snake in there cause the guy at the pet store told me that i could. he saied it wouldn't get very big and i could even keep him on a 10 gallon for a few yrs, so I dont know!
Do Ram get aggressive with their own kind? or as everyone say they are very pieceful?

How about a datnoid?

:) a couple of leopard perches (Ctenopoma acutirostre) or leaf fishes could be kept there for life.

Hi, Rams aren't aggressive with each other as far as cichlids go, but you'd be pushing it with more than 2 males in a 29. Maybe add a couple or a trio of females if the one you have is male. If you can get hold of any crenicichla (checkerboard cichlids) they look amazing when adult, are very peaceful and stay small :)

I got some longfinned german rams for my Dad's tank when I was in Texas. I made the mistake of putting them with some much more aggressive SA cichlids.....one took a beating and moved to the Discus tank...the other is hanging tough. So get on the floor and do the New Kids Dance.
