real plants would look better i use water sprite for my chiclids because its easy and if the break it up it just makes more plants, i put a bunch of little rocks at the base to help with being dug up

I would have left the boulder where it was,and get a descent sized piece of Malaysian driftwood for the other side.Tie some java ferns into the wood,and get some wisteria for in back of the boulder,in the middle,and behind the wood if you get it.Then take the smaller stones,and pile them around in the middle of the tank.The Malaysian wood will also give you the black water.
well I didnt get rid of the boulder its just on the back deck so its still an option an I def would like a stump with tangled roots for my drift wood piece Ill work on trying to find a good piece. here are some pics of the tank with the sand just put in. I know it looks bad.
I have all my rocks an plants put back in an I found a tree stump with tangled roots among my old fish stuff I think the sand makes it look so much better an it helps hold down the plants alot more too now i need to sell the 100 pounds of natural gravel I have kuz I prolly wont use it again ever. Still alitle cloudy tho but its coming along I think the new reconfiguration really helps.

looks good i would group the plants into 2 clusters behind the rocks rather than spreading them out but other than that it looks really nice. I need to decorate my tank it looks like crap compared to yours for sure
thanks man, I might experiment still aliitle with everything but the sand really brightens up the tank. anyone have an opinion??
I like it.Does it have a background? If it doesn't,I would put one on.Other that that,looks good to me.You'll probably re-do it 10 times before your happy with it.I know I always do.
