does anyone know anything else about this? like do i have to replcae my rocks

no, just boil them or place them in really hot water and put them back later when the ich is gone. b/c i treated ich for nearly 2 months and they kept coming back. so i decided to take all my rocks/gravel out and it worked

I dunno. I didn't take my rocks, etc. out; I just treated the whole tank. After that, I started using aquarium salt at every water change to prevent their return.

The eggs are unaffected by the meds, that is why you bump up the temp- to speed up the incubation time of the eggs. They are throughout the whole tank and, in theory, could be protected and plentiful in the rocks/substrate. so pulling them would help.

The ich in a Salt and Heat treatment will Get WORSE before better..

Heat increases the speed of the life cycle of the ich..Hence it looks HORRIBLE after you start the treatment.

The salt helps keep the fish less stressed and when the ich eggs hatch or burst the salty and heated water is not suitable to sustain the new life , so it dies.. This can take more than a week sometimes two to be completely done..

It hasn't even been 48 hours. Be patient and stay the course. Heat and Salt.. It is all the same when it comes to the gravel the ich will hatch and DIE... You do not need to replace it :)

It is a process..

Alright heres the deal i have the empty tank right now, i treated it onece already(30 drops of quick cure) the people at lfs said you can u use like that 3 times, every 24 hours,For 3 times, (confusing!) should i do it for more or what, AND i added the correct amount of salt. for my 30 gal tank
:feedback:

treat for the 3 days
then do a water change, you should see no ich after you do a water change
but like i said, the ich can still stay within your rocks
