Yep, thats my jar when I rescued him back in nov 2006 at 3.5" and all messed up. Then he's grown to about 8" or so and healed up, although slightly blind in his right eye. :irked:

i wont make alot, but i just wanna keep the arowana as long as I can, i dont have enough room or money for a bigger tank

You have alot of options with that 135 gallon, why get a fish that you cannot keep?

What I usually do when I get a small arowana is get a whole bunch and I mean a whole bunch of feeder guppies and left them grow and multiply in the tank I'm going to put the arowana in. After about a month or two of them growing, eating and multiplying I make sure the guppies are healthy and I then introduce about a two inch arowana into the tank. The arowana then has a large heathy food supply for the first few months of his life plus they will also eat the flake food I feed the guppies. This will get you a nice looking and healthy arowana to start off with.

180 Gallon
24” Silver Arowana
2x 18” Iridescent Sharks
2x 14” Sailfin Plecostomus
12” Black Shark (Labeo Chrysophekadion)
12” Tiger Oscar
12” Leporinus Fasiatus
4x 8” Tin Foil Barbs
6” Farlowella
5X 6” Plecostomus
3” Gold Nugget Plecostomus
2X 3” Chocolate Sailfin Plecostomus

Then dun waste time by keeping one small one and then later get rid of it when it's too big in your current tank. Get yourself a decent big enough tank for it first then.

Well, assuming you do go ahead with your plan, what's your idea for transporting a 2 foot + long fish back to the pet store? Assuming they want it, of course. Just because they tell you they'll take it back in 2 years, doesn't mean they will when the time comes.
