Any tips on my bird cage?

For my macaw I get her out for a few minutes with the nothing but the fish tank lights on to start calming her down and when I put her away I tell her it is time to go to bed and put a few pistachios(her favorite treat) in with her. While she is distracted with the pistachios I cover the cage with 3 sheets to make sure the entire cage is covered. I then put a heavier blanket on the three sides that aren't against the wall to get it as dark as possible in her cage as well as to help muffle out any noises she may hear. The sheets will also help serve as a cheaper material for her to chew up instead of the heavy blankets. As I am leaving the room I always tell her the same thing and shut the door. After this I try and stay quite for about 20 minutes so she will settle in and go to sleep. At this point it would take a lot for her to make any kind of loud noises. I also have a pretty loud air filter and fan in my room with her to give off plenty of white noise so she cant hear things I am doing. This as worked for me but like it was said above it will require a routine for it to work.
