well today was suppose to be a good day but it turned out bad, this wasn't my first re seal job but my worst, i wasted about 5 tubes of silicone and it turned out like crap lol, i can only laugh about it now and start over,i am not sure what went wrong with this project but it went wrong for sure, so now i gotta start over
the main thing is i ran short of supplies mid way into the project and couldn't get more, i thought i had everything i needed but i was wrong
so with great disappointment i have to re start this weekend and now i gotta scrape again fun fun fun lol
so i am keeping the good spirits and mission in mind and we will nail it the second time, i really didn't wanna post pics just because 15 yrs in the hobby i don't wanna embarrass my self lol
but because of sooooo many here you guys helped me out more then you know with all the info and as you guys/gals know you can never know it all in this hobby so lets start over with better pics

about 24 hours later ,still removing the silicone i did , a lot is still freash and sticky of course so it's a pita lol, i think i messed up by trying to make the seam beads way too thick, wanted to make them thicker then the shops do but way to thick, got all the new silicone and supplies ready to hit it again wish me luck :)

i guess everything happens for a reason, when i was cleaning the tank up i noticed in one corner on the bottom panel a a space , yup thats were the weak spot was , the silicone was like mush,so i am removing the bottom panel and redoing it then new seams on the inside,i think by removing the bottom panel is the best, i don't think if i had only done the inside it would hold for very long from the pressure, fun stuff ahead

i already removed the bottom trim/brace successfully,in one pieace, and i am gonna start on removing the panel

OK RAN INTO A SNAG PLLLEEEAAASSEEE HELP LOL

i successfully removed the bottom brace, didn't damage any of it , one piece yay

but now i started to run a razor blade threw the seam to start separating the glass bottom panel, well at some parts it seems like the blade ran threw that seam like a hot knife threw butter i mean easy(lead me to think thank god i am removing the bottom panel}but i am chipping the panel a bit and it is very hard running the blade threw some parts of the silicone without damaging the panel to much

any ideas of a way to get this darn panel off without messing up the glass?

gotta cut alittle at a time I had the same problem when I started to rush...

I used a bit of 2x4 a little longer than the width of the tank to help "push" the seams apart, done slowly it give just enough separation to get the blade in there...

Any updates on the re-sealing the 225? I recently just purchased my 225 that leaks. I decided to go with a complete breakdown mostly because the guy use epoxy to try to reseal it. And second dont trust myself to really get the old silicon clean. if it broken down then i can take my time to clean the tank.
