any tips on training a dog?

i have y older pitt (american pitt)she sits on the steps when she needs to go...
but im gunna work on the training.....

i put a big contracter bag around its cage and it seems to like to pee on the plastic and not on the floor.... still not good but improvment for day 2 of having it

IMO the younger you start training the better. 12 weeks isn't old but I would have looked for a young young puppy. Believe it or not started my dog at 7 weeks and she had it done with minimal accidents at 10 weeks.. After 12 weeks no accidents at all. Smart dog. Although we started her by letting see that an older dog goes outside when it has to go to the bathroom. One of the best ways.
