Actually the bible talks about dragons a LOT, something like 20 or 30 times, at least. Leviathan is often fire-breathing, and drags his belly, etc. I've read the whole bible a few times. But we don't know what animal that word was actually representing, like Jonah's "big fish" is almost unanimously accepted to be a whale, while we all know they are taxonomically very different things. But nothing alive today breathes fire, a trait very frequently associated with such creatures. They may well have been killed off, starved with the general extinction of megafauna in the Holocene, or simply were otherwise out-competed and went extinct like everything else does.
