Anybody else feel bad about culling fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Culling is part of it. The thing is, Fry let off a growth inhibitor hormone.
That water changes are the only way to get rid of it. :)

So you have to cull to thin out the batch.
The only other option is to move them to a very large tank.
So that 50% water changes are effective.

But I would rather raise a few dozen quality fish,
Than a few hundred runts, Or undesirable offspring.:D

Spike:grinno:

When I have to cull fish my Nile perch and very very large geophagus and severums get a snack ;) just another part of the hobby and technically if you have pure breed fish and not hybrids in the wild 90 percent get eaten anyway so naturally the weakest get culled in the wild no different then you doing it yourself in your tank
