Anybody else have adult Electric Blue/Gold ("Platinum") Dempseys?

So far so good on all the fry. Just working on separating the electric blues from the blue gene/gold gene fry.
The fry from the platinum x gold are doing great too...growing fast. I can't wait to find out if there are platinum fry. Probably another couple weeks before I'll be able to tell. They all look the same st this point...
 
Cool, if you get any fry, let me know. I'd be interested in swapping for some unrelated blue gene/gold genes :)

Got all the older fry separated and counted--there are 300 EBJD's, and close to 400 blue gene/gold genes. Not too shabby. They are really putting on some size now that they have switched from BBS to crushed earthworm flake.

The platinum and gold spawned again last night...looks to be about twice as many eggs as the last spawn. I also set up a new pair of a young male EBJD and an unrelated female blue gene. Hopefully there will be eggs from them soon too...
 
Worldbelow, hopefully it won't be too long until I've got little platinums available :) there may be some in the current batch of gold fry...just too soon to tell. I should know within a couple weeks though...keeping my fingers crossed.
Tabby, nice EBJD's! You're right, they do have very nice gold highlights :)
 
Pulled the eggs from the platinum and gold today...they are starting to hatch :)
Now that the older fry from the platinum x gold are getting larger, I am starting to see a distinct difference between the fry. At first, i didn't want to get my hopes up, and I thought it might just be wishful thinking... but now I can clearly tell that about half the fry are translucent gold, and about half are gold with little black markings, similar to EBJD fry, only more faint. So I am pretty sure the female is does in fact carry the blue gene, and half these fry are little platinums! I tried to get pictures, but it is not something that shows up well in photos at this point. But soon....:)

Cool! I dont think you will get that many "platinums" isnt it supposed to be something like 6% with this cross?
