Anybody else have quiet HOB filters?

they're all hit or miss in my experience...

2x ac110's: one is literally the loudest filter i ever heard (prop is banging around, replacement prop didn't help) the other is pretty quiet

ac70: pretty quiet

2x ac50's: same case as the 110's, 1 loud + 1 quiet

4x penguin 350's: one is hopelessly loud 24/7/365 and the others have good days and bad days

2x rena xp4's: both dead silent

rena xp3: slightly noisy (clicking prop) but not as bad as a hob

It`s not just the "water fall" noise that rubs people the wrong way.
Most of the time it`s the noise from the junk impeller system used in construction.
Those that have silent HOB, you are lucky.
With just a bit more attention from the makers, the HOB could be an excellent filter method, but I doubt that will ever happen.

I second this, I had an old penguin and was dead silent, then bought two new emp 280's and the impeller part is noisy as hell. Shame really the emps are great filters once moded
