something like that happened to me a few weeks ago with a submersible Duetto I was about to set-up in a fry tank. had just finished cleaning it out, set it on the corner of the wash basin while I reached another 2 feet away to grab something else and the damn thing fell off, hit the concrete floor and the plastic intake strainer just shattered in pieces. I was mad, but I was especially mad cuz it was my last Duetto out of 3 I had. Why don't they make stuff more durable, shock-resistant, shatter-proof, etc?I had an old emperor 400 that was making noises. Took if off to clean and the cord caught between the door and floor. It ripped the filter right out of my hand and landed on the floor. Cover cracked, intake tube broke so got pissed and kicked the damn filter against the wall. End of emperor filter.
Than they can't make you buy another onesomething like that happened to me a few weeks ago with a submersible Duetto I was about to set-up in a fry tank. had just finished cleaning it out, set it on the corner of the wash basin while I reached another 2 feet away to grab something else and the damn thing fell off, hit the concrete floor and the plastic intake strainer just shattered in pieces. in his case another 3Than they can't make you buy another one![]()
I rigged some filter pad where the intake used to be.....it's basically the same as turning the flow-regulator to "minimum" which for fry, is perfect, I couldn't even siphon them out last night, even at 1 month they were strong enough to swim out of the current, so whatever lol....now it has a pre-prefilter, a prefilter and a filter sponge. I been wanting a bigger filters for a while, but at the same time I always liked multiple filters instead - better for bioload - you can clean them more thoroughly when you have another one on the tank.Than they can't make you buy another one![]()
HEY!!! No cheap shots!!!in his case another 3
well, until last night they were separate HRP-Convicts and Red Jewels, but the parent Jewels laid another clutch about 2 AM (***holes) so I spent a few hours, moving the parent HRP-Convicts, so I could take the Jewel fry and put them in with the HRP-Convict fry to give the parent Jewels an empty tank again to breed. I think they just kill the older fry to make room for a new clutch anyway, don't they? About 60-70 Cons and 60-70 Jewels now, both species parents are back to a tank of just the pairs "by themselves", but I noticed I missed a good half-dozen Jewel fry in their tank this mornig, so I guess I gotta try again while they dart between GRAVEL and I try to net them out without SQUISHING them between to stones small enough to be my BOOGERS!!!!Oh damn nice well it worked out than lol. Yea I usually have one big filter(Every other month maintenance ) and a couple smaller ones that are easier to maintain and help the bio load. What kind of fry ?
