Well, id like to know im not the only one suffering... All I can think of is setting up a nice 300g tank, white sand with a couple very large pieces of drift wood. Black background on the tank of course. Lighting would be 3 250w 20k MH lights, once burned in looks like 50/50 PC (Actinic + 10K) and really brings out the blues and adds that shimmer to the water. Two overflows falling into a large sump with a Skimmer, enhances the lights shimmer and that'll make water truly crystal clear.

Id totally drop every penny I had on that... hell, i wish I had a damn picture that looked that good.

Anybody else have this horrible urge ? LOL

On a side note.... Why don't more FW enthusiasts use a Protein Skimmer ?
The SW guys i know that keep one or or two FW tanks throw a skimmer on and its amazing.

just save your money and make your dream a reality, there a great fish.

Ya, just recently becoming interested. I've got my aros that I will have to provide a huge tank for though. Just don't see one in my future.

A friend of mine has a 16 + " dovii in his 500 G tank. He recently sold all the tankmates (wild caught midas, Red Devil & Managuense -all from Rapps) and now is alone in the big tank. Very impressive and outgoing.

As cool as they are, I'd probably use the space on other fish. Even if it had to be a solo fish, I'd get a jardini. I'm a sucker for aros though.

Not in so many details as you've put, but yes I definitely want a Dovii. I didn't see what the big deal was until I saw a CA setup in TN aquarium: 3 male Doviis stand out more than *anything* else in that tank, absolutely amazing looking fish.
Too bad, I don't have space for a >180 gallon tank.

Here's a pic of two of the males:

Well I wish i could keep one. The flowerhorn who is 4in beat down my red terror who was 2in. Then my beautiful dovii got the beatdown but i am getting a 29 gallon to get another dovii who is 3in. for 10.00. And add a green terror, texas, siamese algae eater:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I would like to have one but don't have the space for another large tank.
