We have a young male rostratus that seems to dislike other fish he even killed his female. Then the other day he killed our new female paratilapia polleni female. He was picking on our ebjd but I thought it was just the color anyone else have a rostratus like this?

What size is he? I bought 2 in hopes of a male that are about 5" or so now, and they just started beating the crap out of eachother lately. I'm thinking it might be 2 males trying to work out dominance. Other than this, they stick to themselves and just sift and swim all day.

He is about 8 inches today he beat up 1 of our tinfoil barbs that is about the same size. I think he is just a mean fish as the rest of our rostratus are peaceful.

Mine seem pretty calm cool and collected, although they are only 4" or so.

I have one about 6-7 inches and he is pretty peaceful .He does chase my Venustus from time to time but not overly aggressive imo In fact he really only chases the Venustus when the Venustus bullys other tankmates.

Not sure with this one of ours if it is shape color or what may have to give him some anger management classes. The other option may be attitude adjustment buy putting him in with our bigger male. Only thing in there he may attack the females or the dolphins and I dom;t want that. If he was bigger we could just eat him that would calm him down.

We have four fossies, two are mature males that both colored up nicely and are 12" one mebbe a bit larger, the other two we are growing out hoping for females and they are just under 6" and show no signs of being male.

One of our males is mean. To the point that he will pick on any other hap in the tank except for the c. moorii. He goes after our 10" male venustus relentlessly as much as the other male fossie. I guess there is one with an attitude in every crowd. He does not bother the mbuna or smaller haps, not sure why.

When they really get it on the lids get knocked off and scaping gets rearranged.

Wow those are a good size you should take out the mean male and add the other 2 as it sounds like they are females and should breed for you now. Our mean male has no preference on who he dilikes I guess he is just a bully. Maybe he will get straightend out tonight my wife put our rd female in the tank.

Fossachromis?...I've tried them a few times and they have always raised ruckus in the tank.Once they reach a comfort level it's on.

I always thought they were peaceful as our group never bother the other fish in their tank. It has only been this one male.
