Has nothing to do with being messy. This is ]V[onster fishkeeping. I have many 5 to 10 pounders and a couple heavier fish that make all the mess they want no matter how clean I instruct them to be.

I don't think you could get the sheep to stay there, it will wander off.

Exactly....moster fish equal monster splashing!

Anybody know of any other option besides fabric to put up against a DIY cinder block stand?

?

In my 55 Gallon I used to have a black towel hung up. It was nice, because it soaked up the water very nicely. I rarely had water spots on the back of the tank, because I'd use the towel to clean them up. If it ever was too wet, I'd rinse it out and throw it in the drier and it was as good as new. That happened probably every other month or so.

Careful Fuzzyhead,
I have had towels get wet and actually form a siphon via a wet wick effect and empty tanks down to where the towel reached inside. It is still a lot of mess on the floor.

I use to use the sheets of plastic that they use in hydroponic setups with the white on one side and black on the other, it is big and cheap. To stop drips I just start an inch away from the top and sticky it down with duct tape, the gap doesn't show cause I have hoods that hid it. I'm going to get more soon, post pics when I do, it looks great, very neat.

I built a 1/4 inch plywood frame to around my cinder block stand to hide the blocks on my 180. ive since gotten rid of the cinder blocks and built a wood one.
