Black contact paper will work fine if you can get all of the bubbles out. I know that when you get your windows tinted they spray something on the glass that keeps the film from sticking too much and allows them to squeegee the bubbles out. I forget what it was they used, but it wasn't anything special. I think it was fabric softener or salad dressing or something like that.

I do it. My big Aro tank has black contact paper on the back.

You swipe the back of the tank with "soapy" water , then spread the paper carefully. ( it too uch soapy water the paper will not hold ).

The issue is to make it slowly and, with a ruler, or better a pice of non cutting edge glasse making sure that all the bubbles go away...

i feel cheap, i just use black constrution paper and scotch tape

your not alone, although i used black/blue oak tag on my tanks

on my 55 the blue oak tag got wet a lil(small crack in my hob) but wen it dried its is hardly noticeable unless you look for it

i use a black towel and add vertical folds to it. The lighting and shadows make the tank look bigger and deeper than it really is, since the background looks like it's not just flat.

Mine are all black contact paper. Just some soapy water and a plastic name card will help in removing the bubbles traped.:)

Spray paint a cheap piece of thin plexi. It looks great...wont warp and it'S really simple to change if you want something else later on.
