my 3 rams, jellybean and blood parrot refuse anything but live or frozen worms thanks to it being the staple of my retic. havent even touched the shrimp in days, or flakes/pellets in weeks.
Mine senegal isn't unusally but it used to eat freeze dried food and now doesn't even touch it. Now all she eats is frozen bloodworm, beefheart, and groundbeef(drained of course).
For those who complain about their fish being hooked on pellets could it be that they're addicted to something in them? I mean I know cats are addicted to dry food because it's loaded with sugars [it eventually raises their risk of getting diabetes], do you think it's the same with fish pellets? Maybe we should try to wean them onto more natural foods.
My new halfbeak is convinced that he's a bottom feeder. He looks for food on the bottom and snacks on the catfish sinking wafers.(that's how he broke his beak)
My seng takes boiled carrot chunks and pieces of pummelo raw. My way of getting around the "no carnivorous fish" rule on campus. Sure, he kills feeders, but he's an omnivorous killer!
