  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
which one p.poli p.palmas palmas or p.buettikoferi?

basically, palmas have the same body shape as sens but the colour is a bit brownish gold colour with some green. They have a checkered pattern.

They are fairly active bichirs and have very simalar personalities like the sens. they are considered to have the outstanding personalities of bichirs IMO. Go to google images....

I like palmas buettikoferi personally. Mine is a wild caught juvenile so it hasn't shown it's colors yet and it's still a little scared but he gets more open each day. He likes to act as if my ornate is his dad because where ever the ornate is he is always right there snuggled right by him lol.

yeah, my palmas is a pig, he is so fat sometimes i worry about him. check the avatar

it depends on the species.

I have all 3 species of P. Palmas and their personalities really depend on the individual fish. and ALL 3 of them are Wild Caught.

- Palmas Palmas - this one is almost 12" is active half the time but is very laid back
- Palmas Buettikoferi - i used to have 2. one of them was 4-5 and was VERY aggressive (i sold it already). My other one is reaching 12" and is very active and friendly with my bichirs.
- Palmas Polli - the one i have is 6" and is very active and LOVES to eat.

here are some pics
