Anybody got polypterus palmas?

I got 2. It just said polypterus palmas.

if the palmas is dark green and checkered, its palmas polli.


if its yellow and black stripes, then its palmas palmas.


if its golden yellow and tanish brown with a "dust texture" at the top, then its palmas buettikoferi.

take some pics of your fish and we can ID for you

pics help a lot better than a description most of the time. And if your seller didn't know what kind it's probably a senegalus

I don have them yet and he sells senegals too so don't think he would sell both if they looked exactly alike. He's on eBay.

if you ordered what was in that pic you got 2 senegalus they are commonly mislabeled polypterus palmas

Look at the third pic. It looks more speckled near the top. Doesn't that indicate palmas?

That means it's a juvenile when it gets older it will loose most of the spots and i am sure because i am growing out a baby senegalus right now and he looks exactly like that. In the same grow-out tank i have a palmas buettikoferi which looks nothing like that so there is a 99.9% chance you got 2 senegalus'
