I was going to mention that I have used neosporin on soft shelled turtles with great results. Soft shells are prone to fungus on their shells and it cleared it up very fast once I covered the area with neosporin.
I have heard people say not to use it, but I did, and it worked great. There were even fish in the tank and they had no ill effects from the treatment.
