Anybody here travel for work?!?!

I've been offered a job that would pay me more money but require me to travel and wanted to get peoples opinions on traveling away from home. I would be traveling throughout the 10 most western states.

Do you find that you miss your house?

Does it effect your relationship?:nilly:

Does it effect your fishkeeping? :irked:

Any other thoughts?

bring some ky jelly and you will be fine

How often will you be traveling?

Every week I would be in a diff. city for a few days possibly. The company will also give me a car and pay for my other travling expenses.

I would def. have to train somebody to help me with my fish keeping.:nilly: Question is do I trust anybody to really help?

I do travel alot for work, here is the issue. When you are away, you miss out on alot of benefits that other close company employees get. You dont get all of the info you need and it is hard to get the tools you need for work when you are out on the road. You WILL put on weight from sitting alot and eating fast food...The good thing is you Can get away from your boss!

alot of LFS have services and will take care of fish for ignorant people who dont know how , so i figure they might do it while you are gone

It sounds to me like you will be living at home weekends only. Traveling isn't easy. I travel for work but not nearly as much as many other people have to. (I'm on the road once a month). It takes it's toll. Airports suck, airlines suck, hotels suck. Frankly, if I have to listen to that stupid safety lecture one more time, I may snap.:) That being said, some people can do it and some even enjoy it.
Make sure your job allows you to keep rewards points and airline miles; these come in handy when you want to take a vacation. Also, join EVERY club you can: Hotel, rental car and airline. It takes me all of 5 minutes to pick up my rental car, for example, because I belong to all of the rental companies bonus programs. I recently got stuck in Atlanta and Holiday Inn got me a room simply because i'm a platinum member. I saw other travelers get turned away who were looking for rooms.
