Anybody looking for paddelfish?=-)

My lfs called 7 seas tropical fish in san pedro,Los angeles has some paddelfish for 40 bucks. The guy said that it was eating mysis shrimp, frozen bloodworms, live bloodworms, and something else like crazy. Is this a good deal?

its a good deal. they are VERY difficult fish though.. and as it was said, get massive.

yes dude they're pretty hard. lol african aros are way easier good deal tho they're everywhere in socal

$40 is a good deal but get ready for a very difficult to raise fish. They are pelagic fish, they are also a rather big fish, big you can get around pelagic is much more difficult. If you manage to dwarf the fish somewhat you might be able to keep one in a tank with a big foot print. I would want a tank of about 3' by 8' foot print, how tall the tank is would not be as important as how much surface area it has. If you really want to keep the fish to it's reasonable adult size it needs to be in a pond, a large pond....

Also raise them in a round tank as they may smash their snout. I think fugupuff had one that he grew to a large size in a round tank. Get it eating pellets and have lots of cool aerated water.

My friend has two in a pond and i do not see a very speedy growth on these guys.
