Anybody seen Megalodoras uranoscopus for sale lately?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My fire eel is out of control! Eats more than any other fish I've ever had, she's past 30" and super thick.
My new little guy is about six inches and has not taken any of the sinking pellets yet.I was hoping to get it to eat them but it is looking like a no go.

We have about a foot long specimen of M. uranoscopus and we're wondering what would be a reasonable price for it. Not really dying to get rid of it; it's the kind of fish that we like to keep on display so people can see something unusual. We're in Fort Myers, Florida and wouldn't really want to ship it. Can you imagine what those sharp scutes could do to a bag?

Howdy, neighbor!

Are you an LFS? ... it may sound like you are ...

Anyhoo, the price is highly variable. If you strongly care where your fish goes to and would like to rehome soon, it'd be $0. If you don't care what happens with the fish after you part with it and can wait indefinitely, as you appear, you could ask for $50-$70.

It is quite shippable in a special 15 mil PVC fish bag (costs $5-$15 depending on bag size). The scutes are not that sharp any more. They are sharper on smaller fish.
