Quarantine Tank
Asking for a friend. Anybody use Black Beauty Black Sand with rays or in general? Would love to see it in peoples tanks please. He is considering buying it, can get it for 10lbs. bags $10ea. or 3 10lbs bags for $25. Good deal?

i used to use it. I threw it out. can't stand the stuff. It gets into everything. It doesn't appear natural at all like some kind of waste by product from a factory lol..

LOL - Thanks D

If this is the stuff I am thinking about. Its seems to be a little rough/sharp in my opinion. Maybe look into black estes sand. I think it is around the same price and round/smooth

Isn't Black Beauty used for sand blasting? May be too rough for rays.

Thanks again all...

Black Beauty sand- discription on bag says, A Coal slag abrasive material for use in removing paint and rust from steel and concrete on bridges, ships, barges, tanks, etc., both indoors and outdoors. So, my opinion, prob not good for rays.

YES...Black Beauty sand is NOT good for rays i think. At my company, we use it for sandblasting. its very rough and sharp.

^ thanks for the info, you guys are great!
