Anybody use that 'speckle/textured' spray paint for a background?

I'm sick of the regular black backgrounds. I'd like a clear panel for my next tank, but it will be hard to hide all the plumbing. So I'm wonder, has anybody use that speckled/textured spray paint for a background? Any pics?

Thinking of mixing a few colors, like the gray, brown, and black versions. Thoughts?

Someone actually did that where they sprayed underneath tank but still ran barebottom ,it looked like sand minus where the silicone was. It was a recent thread which linked to an older pic. Hopefully I or someone else can find it.
