I know it's still young, have had him about 2 months now. Got him at about 1/4 inch. He's maybe almost 1.5-2 inches now

looks to be a female but as soon as a nucal hump shows up most of the time its a male. BUT thats not a always the case. How aggressive is it? Females are usually a bit more timid. How old is it? Females are smaller than males.
It is pretty aggresive towards my 3 jack dempseys which are of similar size. I've had it for less than two months, bought at about .25 inches, it is now at around 1 inch maybe 1.25 inches
Well if its that aggressive it might be male. Move it into a growout tank (maybe a 40long) with a goldfish and see how aggressive it acts towards the goldfish, most of the time the female would ignore it and a male would attack it. It could be a female that feels threatened by the jacks and is stressed out. If it stresses out too much you could stunt its growth.
