boxing day origins are that people switched jobs with bosses or empoyees ...this was to give both a little perspective ....it would NEVER work today en mass...too many spoiled people in the world...there is an episode of M*A*S*H that deals with it....this shopping thing is all retail b.s. ...(as is almost eveything anymore):popcorn:
 
How is it retail bs if you decide to shop? No one forces you and most people don't read newspapers or watch commercials nowadays to get hit by mass marketing

I worked Monday and Wednesday, but had/have today and tomorrow off. Went to go get something to eat and everywhere is packed today. Guess everybody took the whole week off...was less packed yesterday. And I was going to take my daughter to a couple stores today...f that.

I have NOTHING against retail persey .....but...our entire economy NOW revolves around debt... OURS... just saying ....it is not a crime to save a little....and the statement I made was much more to inform the uninformed about the actual origins of the day ...wich has now been de-evolved into ...well ...you know were I stand....:popcorn:

I'm confused as fluff....I was on that site at the time the thread was made and there were no great deals online on fluval, sale yes but deals that have been talked about on here no.

Then he posts link and it clearly says in the link (the actual link, not the web page) notavailableinus? So was there a deal or not? I don't even want one but want to clarify my self imposed confusion

There was intact a deal on the fx5 ( and other stuff too). However, I believe it was only for Canadian customers since boxing day/week is a Canadian thing. Also, I think the sale was only visible on the Canadian version of the site. Which might be why you couldn't find it.
