Anyone been to the Shedd lately?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, I loved that they had tons of severums. They said there were Uaru somewhere too, but I didn't see any.

This guy looks larger than any that I saw, and even pointier in the face, but I think that's it. The description of them as appearing "heavy" in their usual swimming is accurate too. They looked like they were bottom heavy until they decided to dart after another fish (conspecific aggression). They were extremely colorful even in the darker areas that they were in.

Yeah, they don't swim the best. Leibel nicked named 'goby eartheaters' for that reason (though astonishingly enough, they are more closely related to Cichla than any eartheater :screwy:). Beautiful fish, very sensitive though.

How's their polypterus looking? I haven't went yet but I hear they have some massive ones there.
I'll be taking a trip there this winter.
